In November of 2018, this happened to me. I was a high flying real estate agent, master of my domain (or so I thought), multitasking retired military member.

Then, a seller messaged me one morning asking, "What are you doing to earn your commission today?"

My hands started shaking and by 2 PM I was in the hospital getting rushed back for an EKG.

The doc came out and told me, "Your heart is fine. You're having a panic attack."

"No, doc, that's not possible. I have been to war. I don't panic," I said.

"I am the doctor," he said, "and I am telling you that's what's happening. It's all caught up to you."

I have been working since then to find another path, to be kinder to myself, to learn to tell people no.
