What is your Battle Rhythm?
If you are operating your business through an ad hoc management style, you are not operating your business…it is operating you. — Rob
A battle rhythm is a defined series of steps you do on a recurring basis to run your business. I refer to them as my ‘minimum, mandatory actions’ I do on a daily, weekly, monthly basis to keep my business baseline running.
What might this look like in practice? Here are two of my daily tasks:
- Update and post Weather Wiki (see below)
- Post my ‘Things to do in the community’ graphic
- Check my real estate state of the market custom dashboard
On a weekly basis, I have additional minimum, mandatory tasks like:
- Post the weekly small business thread for open advertising
- Biweekly check on the median and average rolling prices
I have monthly tasks, too, as well a number of automations, too, that I’ve built to assist. These are all interval based tasks that allow me — assist me — in providing a baseline from which I can engage in higher level tasks.
By automating as much of the baseline as possible (or as desired), I free up mental bandwidth to do higher level engagement.
